You're one of the few people to notice that it definitely has the no-holds-barred feel of an Italian poliziotteschi, along with an inadvertent proto-Abel Ferrara nihilism in regards to people.<br /><br />Apparently, this was one of a small number of movies financed by, of all sources, the General Cinema theatre chain (of the "candy band" promos), along with FOOLIN' AROUND with Gary Busey, which is why Columbia has never done anything with it beyond the original release in 1980. Viacom had TV rights but those seem to have expired too.
