Best of The Aughties: Posters

I have not decided if I will do many look back at the decade of film posts or not, there's too much to revisit or in some cases, finally visit, to be anything close to comprehensive. So it is in earnest that I begin this venture knowing damn well this may be it in terms of decade lists.

We start with the twenty best (do I need to add IMO?) posters of the decade, here's a score worth of advertising that transcended the medium and it's lazy over reliance on the "Big Head" paradigm to become quote unquote art in it's own right. Though it should be brutally obvious, these are not the twenty best posters for the twenty best films, some of these films I do not like, a few I have not even seen, one is actually for a movie that doesn't exist yet (you'll get it when you see it) so no "but the film sucks" comments will be accepted. These posters either evoke the spirit of the movie or compel on their own removed from my opinion of the films they are selling. And yes, I am a sucker for a quality horror film poster.

Since this is the age of variant posters for films, the one specifically represented below is the one that I am "rewarding" (though any other of the Brick character posters could just as easily filled in for that selection).

I liked all of these posters, got some good picks. I wouldnt have expected to see some of these, Machete? Is that coming out sometime soon...I think it is awesome that they are doing a movie based off of a fake trailer. Couple of my favorites were the sin city character series, Kill Bill Vol 1 (used to have in my room, cant beat Uma in yellow!)
