The Holidays as Backdrop: Rocky

For someone who fashions himself an agnostic, I must admit I still get the warm fuzzies during the holiday season. So let me wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Captivating Kwanzaa, and of course to my Wookie readers, a bountiful Life Day.

As a way of secular celebration, I will be sharing some stills from films that feature holiday decorations in the background, secondary to the focus of the film or their particular scene. To make it interesting, there will be no traditional classic holiday movies like It's a Wonderful Life or Black Christmas nor will there be any films whose plot heavily utilizes a Christmas setting like Die Hard or Gremlins. These will be films that just happen to feature one or a few scenes set during the holidays. Or as the post's title says "the holidays as backdrop." Today's introductory feature is Rocky (1976, John G. Avildsen)
